Improving Efficiency and Quality with Automation: European Logistics Giant’s Journey to Optimize Loading Processes
Growing With Our Clients
The US-Based retail store chain was dealing with High error reporting in the invoicing process, One-Many relationship between PO and invoices, Validation and payment were tiresome because of the varied product line, Ownership challenges due to distributed structure at an area level, Tracking and responding back on time was getting difficult resulting in poor partner experience
European Logistics giant is seeking to automate its process of reading data from unstructured Bill of Lading documents and entering a huge amount of data within 2-3 hours of the day start. The current work window and manual data entry process is proving to be both time-consuming and prone to errors. The company is also experiencing an increase in the amount of Less than-a Truckload (LTL) shipments, making it necessary to find a solution that can optimize loading within the given time constraints.
What We Can Do
Analyze the current state of data entry and its associated processes, such as manual labor, time utilization, and accuracy.
Develop a plan for an automated data entry solution, with a detailed description of the automated system, its technical specifications, and its implementation.
Provide quantitative predictions for the improvement in same-day load, with an expected improvement of at least 25%.
Optimize the route and load assignment for vehicles, with a detailed description of the routing and optimization algorithms.
Where Can We Help?
The first step in this process is to form two teams, one focused on routing and the other on exceptions. Each team will be responsible for eyeballing exception cases to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
The next step is to develop an IDP solution with integration with a route recommendation third-party application. This will help to streamline the routing process and help to reduce manual errors.
Multiple instances will then be created for parallel processing of data extraction and posting of records into the ERP system. This will help to maximize efficiency and reduce processing time.
Load clubbing recommendations for LTL cases based on the same route will be implemented to increase efficiency and reduce processing time.
Full truck cases will be moved directly to the routing queue review to reduce processing time and improve accuracy.
Finally, the solution will be trained on over 5400+ different types of Bill-Of-Lading to ensure accuracy and efficiency. Training the solution on a variety of different types of BOLs will help to reduce manual errors and maximize efficiency.
